Boil required amount of dal and mash them and keep it. Soak 1 tablespoon tamarind in ⅓ cup hot water for 20 to 30 minutes. Pressure cook the required veggies, turmeric, salt, tamarind pulp and keep it ready. Heat 2 tbsp oil or ghee, add 1/2 tsp each mustard seeds & jeera, 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds (methi), 1/8 tsp hing (asafetida), few curry leaves and 2 red chillies. When the dal turns golden and mustard seeds crackle, add 2 tsp of Aaha Masala’s Sambar powder, cooked vegetables, and boiled dal to it and let is cook for 5 to 7 mins. Add, a pinch of jiggery, and finally garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves.
